Founded in 2010, Swaraj Gramin Vikas Pratisthan has been serving unreached communities in Maharashtra. Swaraj was initially established to address the disparity in access to incomes, skills, nutrition, water, and livelihoods, in the disadvantaged Jalna district of Maharashtra, and has now extended to other districts.
With a career spanning four decades, Mr. Bhausaheb Gunjal is a passionate advocate for rural development. Mr, Gunjal possesses a strong academic foundation in Commerce, augmented by a post-graduate degree in Rural Social Development from the esteemed Reading University, United Kingdom. His expertise is further enriched by a training program in Sustainable Agriculture with APPROTECH Asia, Philippines.
Mr. Gunjal's commitment to rural communities is evident in his extensive experience across diverse areas, including livelihoods, health, education, organic farming, women's empowerment, water and sanitation, and child protection.
The Swaraj Gramin Vikas Pratisthan is the embodiment of Mr. Gunjal's vision for rural development. Through Swaraj, he has pioneered numerous initiatives that have become models for other organizations in the sector. Notably, his work on community-based child protection interventions has gained national recognition, prompting the government and UN organizations to promote its replication across Maharashtra.
